Resident Evil: afterlife

I saw Resident Evil when it got out back in 2002, and was impressed by the tension and action and, by Milla Jovovich, of course. Although flawed, the second installment of the franchise found more room to expand to than i could've ever imagined. And though it was logical, the third one provided the goods as well with more action and a bigger picture, as well.
Now, Alice is back, once again. I wasn't sure what to expect, because the series were strong and solid so far, but it isn't easy to keep up the good pace. So, at first, i thought it wasn't going to be easy to match the prequels, especially the scale of the last installment
But then, the news about the 3D came around, and followed by the fusion system technology announcement, the infamous Cameron creation, that will be used almost ruthlessly often in the future, it was all clear. I saw it getting better and better, the development of the movie was incredible lately and, though the trailer wasn't saying much, i was kind of hoping to cover the best parts, and i luckily hoped right and this was the best part-i wasn't expecting even half of the action and battle sequences i saw
And i must say that the cast is the best that could've been assembled. Ali Larter is great, she's grown so much to the series that fits her perfectly well. Wentworth Miller is cool, a little bit Scofield-like, but that's normal. After all, he was great as a con. The only thing i missed was Oded Fehr, who has portrayed a very likable and convincing character in the 2-nd and 3-rd installments
And, surprisingly, the script had more in common with the videogames than the prequels had. I mean, that's a fresh take, and the 3D makes it better.

After shock

Aftershock cuts to the chase and audience smack into 1976 Tangshan, China, just about when the big quake struck. We are introduced to family of four, where soon enough mother nature’s unforeseen wrath swallows up the entire city, and shattering countless of lives and families in the process. What follows will set the stage for the entire two more hours to come, where Yuan Ni has to make that Sophie's Choice of which twin for the rescuers to save - son Da Feng, or daughter Fang Deng - since a beam separates the two. Tradition, culture and custom will unfortunately make this a no-brainer when push comes to shove, coupled with the fact that the death of her husband in rescuing her, and her role as the dutiful wife to ensure the preservation of the family line, but worst, this decision is made within earshot of Fang Deng who's fighting for her life in the rubble.Heaven's compassion means Fang Deng survives the ordeal nonetheless, but gets picked up by a PLA soldier and sent to a survivor's camp, where she gets adopted into a foster family. The narrative then tangents into two halves, one following the grown up Da Feng, and the other Fang Deng , in their trials and tribulations of growing up in China in the last 30 years, interspersed with shots of a growingly vibrant Tangshan (and other cities of China) where we see the economic development of the country. However, Nature still is that unfortunate leveler, and for all the technological advancement, human emotions and a mother's love still continue to form the basis of a heart-wrench when dealt with an unfair card in life. Based upon a novel, what works here are the many small subplots that get introduced, such as teenage romance, filial piety, and essentially the all important theme of family that merges well with the inclusion of landmark events and another more recent quake that brings characters together. What more, all the cast members gave stellar performances that will tug at your heartstrings, and enable the melodramatic, emotional finale to be all the more powerful as we come to learn how bitterness and hatred accumulated over the years, can dissipate with the passage of time, and the opportunity presented to seek forgiveness. Which somehow the editing seemed to give way under the weight of emotions, and introduced some abrupt cuts away from scenes you'd think will linger for a more emotional closure. However, art direction from costuming to sets here are superb in capturing the look and feel depicting the different eras from the 70s to the 90s, and brought to mind other similarly crafted dramas like Heaven Eternal, Earth Everlasting and Electric Shadow, both films that you should give a watch as well should you dig powerful dramas like Aftershock.

Disney

In the previous class, the lecturer had showed us a documentary about Disney. About Disney, I have seen a lot of cartoons produced by Walt Disney Company, and I have been to Hong Kong Disneyland on 2007. In Hong Kong Disneyland have 4 parts, Main Street USA, Tomorrow land, Fantasy land and Adventure land. Although there is the smallest, but I really love it. In there you can find plenty of familiar cartoon characters, also there have the traditional American town. Although Disneyland is the children’s playground, but there are recreational facilities include many high-technologies. Disneyland have many themes, the park use animated by the color, excitement, magic and other ways to show the different theme park. For example they use the 3D technology and the sound technology fix in the ghost house, people feel it’s a true environment.

Toy story 3

I went to watch toy story 3 with my sister last month, I just watched 2D version, because the focus of this movie was not high-tech, but its story itself. This is a touching story, the toy is very important to every kids, every toy include a memorable story, it means everyone’s childhood, I think no one want to farewell to our toys, this is starting point of this movie, I saw a men cry when the toy will dead on the movie, I think it makes him remember his childhood and toy, what we have learned from this movie? One love is hand in hand, when the toys face to die on the movie, they just didn’t give up his friend to reach the end. one love is let it go, when Andy grew up, at first he forget his favorite toy, but he gave it to Boonies’ in the final, I think he learned how to do to his toys was best way.

Avatar

After I watched avatar, I have to admit that the film is such as wonder that I thought it is well worth watching in one’s life, I think “avatar ” is not just a film, the graphics, character and environment design is very nice, the view is really beautiful and amazing, but all things is not true, they are use the technology do it from computer. I don’t know how can I describe what I saw, I think James Cameron is not unknown to us , after he direct titanic in1997 everybody knows him is great director ,right now he use 3Dcamera give us a surprise again, this film is not just about love story between a human and Navi’s princess, but also is a educational file. It leads a profound question that what is human’s future. We can’t be that selfish regardless of our descendants’ happiness. We must believe nature is rules can’t be broken, believe harmony can exist among every species. We also need believe love can cross people with background, believe justice can win evil.
